Who We Are
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” - John 8:12
The vision of Lifelight is very simple: to be a community that is learning to live and love like Jesus. That is why we gather together. All of us are still learning and will continue to learn what it means to follow Christ, to participate in God’s mission. We want to be there for each other and in each other’s lives, providing support and encouragement. Jesus lived and loved perfectly, and we aim to live and love as closely as Jesus did. We believe in this vision together, sharing with one another our hopes and joys and helping each other grow as God helps us grow.
What We Practice
We strive to be a simple community of faith, living out our faith scattered and gathering for sharing and encouragement. We gather twice each week for the Service of Word and Table on Sunday and for meditative reading and prayer once during the week. When we gather, we are reminded and encouraged of what we encourage each other to practice each day; sharing, loving, praying, serving, through the Word and prayers.
How We Are Organized
We are a cluster of small faith communities (around 20 people in each), belonging to the Church of the Nazarene, meeting either at homes or facilities. While we still have a typical church structure, we are governed on the basis of mutual submission and participation, where everyone shares a voice and participates in the service of one another. While we have the leadership of pastors, we believe all believers are priests in the kingdom of God, agents of God’s mission, called to love God and people.
